Broad Construction successfully completed the initial phase of Terminal 1 international arrivals area expansion in early 2015.
Work commenced in November 2013 with the relocation of immigration to a significantly larger first-floor space featuring more desks and doubled the number of SmartGates. This phase also introduced a larger inbound duty-free store. This portion of the work was handed over to Perth Airport in November 2013 and subsequently opened to the public.
Broad Construction also delivered subsequent construction works to:
- Expand the baggage reclaim and Biosecurity quarantine zones
- Create office facilities for the Department of Agriculture
- Establish a new 'meet and greet' area for international arrivals
