Broad Construction, and its parent company CPB Contractors, has been recognised by Australia’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE).
The WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation is voluntary and designed to encourage, recognise and promote an employer’s active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces. The criteria for the citation cover leadership, learning and development, gender remuneration gaps, flexible working and other initiatives to support family responsibilities, employee consultation, preventing sex-based harassment and discrimination, and targets for improving gender equality outcomes.
The citation captured these focus areas and the action underway at Broad to realise gender balance. This includes the delivery of initiatives such as:
- Formalised targets, learning, and leadership programs
- Inclusive support covering parental, disability, elder care, and domestic violence
- A multi-pronged strategy to ensure pay equity and gender-balanced workplaces
- Ongoing efforts to drive positive change across the broader construction industry.
Broad Construction is committed to enabling gender equality across its operations and providing safe, inclusive and diverse workplaces with equal career opportunities and has developed an organisation-wide Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP).
Broad Construction’s GEAP includes commitments, strategies and measures for actively progressing gender equality in the workplace.
