Broad Construction has recently delivered the construction and commissioning of 298-bed accommodation units, support buildings, a sports court, and a high-security unit with fencing at Casuarina Prison in Western Australia.
The project was divided into three work areas within the prison’s existing perimeter, with each area managed by Broad Construction, ensuring clear lines of communication and accountability for safety, delivery and quality.
The successful delivery of this project relied upon collaboration throughout. Regular on-site inspections by the Superintendent and relevant stakeholders helped maintain normal prison operations.
Managing security clearances and selecting suitable subcontractors were crucial in maintaining a secure environment. Broad Construction’s experience in high-security environments ensured that necessary control measures were understood and achieved.
Strict adherence to security protocols was maintained while working within operating prisons, resulting in no security breaches throughout the project.
