The Broad team has demonstrated its high calibre capabilities through detailed planning, design and construction. The end result has exceeded expectation and further enhanced the overall performance of the building.
A key part to the success of the WorkZone project was the already strong relationship formed with Charter Hall and the level of project management experience we brought to the table.
We took the role as Design and Construct contractor for the base-build construction of both buildings (east and west) and the integrated fit-out of WorkZone West.
Over the course of the build more than 20,000sqm of concrete was poured, more than 150,000 man hours worked and 380 tonnes of structural steel used.
Both buildings in the WorkZone development claim a striking and interesting shade structure. They encompass ground level commercial and retail tenancies as well as multipurpose staff amenities including bicycle facilities and change rooms.
Mid-2015 we received confirmation that the Workzone West building in Perth’s central business district has achieved a NABERS Energy Rating of 5.5 stars.
This is a significant achievement for our team, supporting our approach of working sustainably and in a responsible way; receiving industry recognised outcomes for our work.
The WorkZone buildings were the first to achieve an Office As Built v3 rating in Western Australia and our WorkZone fit-out team was awarded Best Building Fit-out at the Master Builders Western Australia 2014 Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards.
Successful delivery of the base build and fit-out, alongside it’s Green Star ratings, MBA award and NABERS and Water Ratings truly showcases our ability to manage complex and challenging projects, with a particular focus on working in live environments and in parallel with base builds.
Overall, the project was a huge success. Broad delivered above and beyond on the design and construction of the project. Our expectations were exceeded time and time again.
