Our appointment by Leighton Properties to work on Tower 2 of Kings Square 2 (KS2) commercial office development in the heart of Perth’s CBD, allowed us to support the delivery of one of Australia’s most significant commercial and retail projects - the $5.2 billion Perth City Link development.
Tower 2 is an 11 storey building with 20,440sqm of A Grade commercial office space and 530sqm of ground floor retail and facilities. It features advanced energy efficient systems, locally sourced materials and efficient destination controlled lifts and is targeting a 5 Star Green Star – Office Design v3 rating from the Green Building Council of Australia 5 Star NABERS energy rating and targeting LEED Silver rating.
We received official practical completion in May 2015 and are extremely proud to have successfully delivered a piece of this landmark development.
Collaboration was key to the success of this project environment with the entire development a shared operating environment obliging different construction companies and their trades to work side-by-side in limited space.
KS2 clearly showcases how we can deliver complex projects efficiently and effectively for our clients.
The high standards and behaviours of safety and well-being demonstrated by our team during the base build construction were closely monitored by KS2’s anchor tenant during their fit-out tender phase. The team received very high acclaim from the tenants’ audit teams.
KS2 was also involved in the SGS third-party certification audits and WorkSafe assessment that contributed to Broad receiving the WA Platinum Certificate of Achievement.
In addition, the entire project has been delivered with no lost time injuries (LTIs), and to date, the combined KS2 and KS4 teams have amassed over 1,356,399 hours LTI free – a fantastic effort.
This consistent performance and positive outcome are the results of a collaborative effort across our team, everyone working together to ensure the safety and well-being of our colleagues, partners, and subcontractors.
