Construction of the new Colmslie Aquatic Centre provided the Brisbane community with a high quality, state of the art recreation facility.
The 8000sqm complex was constructed for the Brisbane City Council and has been highly acclaimed for its quality and timely delivery.
The complex features an open air 50 metre swimming pool, a covered therapy pool and associated plant rooms, pool concourse areas, male and female amenities, a reception area, kiosk and car parking.
During the works additions were made to the initial scope of the project to include a children’s splash pool and additional car park works for the adjacent Queensland Hockey Centre.
Despite these additions our team delivered the project on time in June 2010.
Beyond the usual excavation and surrounding earthworks associated with the construction of a pool, extensive attention to detail was placed into the pools and tank construction and testing processes.
We also worked within a tight construction footprint enabling a strand of existing native vegetation to remain immediately adjacent to the pool concourse and the operations of the State Hockey Centre not be impeded.
